BACK-UP RINGS

Back-up Rings come in both metric and standard sizes AS568.  Back-up Rings are engineered to fit between the extrusion gap and the O-Ring to prevent damage to the O-Ring. Some use up to two Back-up Rings per O-Ring for better protection. Commonly used with O-Rings, Lip Seals, and with reciprocating shaft seals,  the Back-up Rings have elastomeric seal or plastic to help connection in its correct place. Usually used for connections with two different materials with one being rigid and the other being flexible.
